Patrona Corporation Promotes John (Jay) Vance to Chief Financial Officer

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA. May 08, 2017 – Patrona Corporation, a leading small business service provider to the U.S. Navy and DoD, today announced the promotion of John (Jay) Vance to Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Vance was previously serving as Controller since he started with Patrona in 2010, and succeeds Daniel P. Lyon, former CFO and a founder of Patrona, who will continue to serve as Legal Counsel. Mr. Vance will lead the Company’s financial strategy as well as play a key role in strategic corporate growth initiatives.

Mr. Vance has more than 30 years of experience in accounting, finance, tax, and auditing. He has held numerous leadership positions, including Senior Accountant, Senior Director of Accounting, and Controller, supporting government contractors, technology companies and small businesses in the public and private sectors.

Prior to joining Patrona, Mr. Vance was a Manager/Outsourced Accounting Consultant for RyanSharkey, LLP, located in Reston, Virginia. He established and managed the accounting staff, strategized and implemented financial services for clients, created business development opportunities, and oversaw accounting software application integration.

Mr. Vance received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree, majoring in Accounting, from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division of Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) Awards Patrona Corporation $9.6 Million Contract to Provide Administrative Support Services

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA. October 20, 2016– The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division of Newport, Rhode Island (NUWCDIVNPT), has awarded Patrona Corporation, a leading woman-owned small business service provider to the U.S. Navy and DoD, a $9.6 Million five-year contract to provide administrative support services for the Administrative Work Centers (AWCs) for Departments located on the NUWCDIVNPT campus and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Detachment Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (NUWCDETAUTEC) in W. Palm Beach, Florida. NUWCDIVNPT provides research, development, test and evaluation, analysis, engineering and fleet support for submarines, autonomous underwater systems, undersea offensive and defensive weapons systems and countermeasures associated with undersea warfare.

Patrona Corporation Opens New Washington, DC, Office to Support U.S. Navy Submarine Safety and Quality Assurance Division

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA. July 1, 2016– Patrona Corporation was recently awarded a $23 million five-year contract to provide engineering, programmatic and quality assurance support for the NAVSEA Submarine Safety and Quality Assurance Division. The Submarine Safety and Quality Assurance Division is responsible for safety and quality assurance programs associated with acquisition and life cycle management of Submarine Safety (SUBSAFE), Fly-By-Wire Ship Control Systems (FBW SCS) and Deep Submergence Systems Programs and compliance with these programs.

Patrona Corporation has opened a SUBSAFE Support Center on the first floor at Maritime Plaza II. Located at 1220 12th Street SE, Washington, DC, it will be home to more than 30 employees of Patrona and its teaming partners.

U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command Awards Patrona Corporation $23.5 Million Contract to Support Submarine Safety and Quality Assurance

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA. May 4, 2016– U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) has awarded Patrona Corporation, a leading woman-owned small business service provider to the U.S. Navy and DoD, a five-year contract to provide engineering, programmatic and quality assurance support for the Submarine Safety and Quality Assurance Division. The Submarine Safety and Quality Assurance Division is responsible for safety and quality assurance programs associated with acquisition and life cycle management of Submarine Safety (SUBSAFE), Fly-By-Wire Ship Control Systems (FBW SCS) and Deep Submergence Systems Programs and for monitoring compliance with these Programs.

The cost-plus incentive fee contract, valued at $23.5 million, includes a base year, two option years and two award terms. Patrona and its teaming partners, Global Services Solutions, Inc., and Gryphon Technologies will assist the Submarine Safety and Quality Assurance Division with program planning, implementation, management and execution for the Submarine Safety (SUBSAFE), Deep Submergence Systems (DSS) and FBW SCS Certification Programs, including life cycle support, logistics and quality assurance engineering.

Former US Navy Executive Director Timothy Bassett Joins Patrona Corporation
ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA. June 3, 2015 - Patrona Corporation, a leading woman-owned small business service provider to the U.S. Navy and DoD, announces the hiring of Mr. Timothy T. Bassett as a Principal Engineer. He will be assigned duties providing senior leadership, technical expertise and strategic planning of Patrona’s broad array of emergent customer initiatives.  Mr. Bassett has more than 37 years of technical, senior management and strategic planning expertise that make him an invaluable asset for Patrona as it strives to become the preeminent service provider for the submarine and greater Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) community.

Prior to joining Patrona Corporation, Mr. Bassett was Executive Director of the NAVSEA Submarine Maintenance Engineering, Planning & Procurement (SUBMEPP) Activity located at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. He was first-in-command overseeing a staff of 220 civilians and 110 contractors, supporting submarine maintenance, strategic planning and execution of a $60+ million budget. He also maintained alignment with NAVSEA and Fleet Commands to ensure efficient and effective execution of submarine maintenance plans for the entire submarine navy. Mr. Bassett developed and implemented revised strategy for SSN 688 Class submarine maintenance and achieved savings of approximately $278 million dollars.

Former NAVSEA Technical Warrant Holder for Electrical Systems Khosrow Moniri Joins Patrona Corporation
ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA. February 26, 2015 – Patrona Corporation, a leading woman-owned small business service provider to the US Navy and DoD, announces the hiring of Khosrow Moniri as Principal Engineer, supporting Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). He will lead task support for the Ohio Replacement Submarine Program efforts.

Moniri has 37 years of extensive experience in electrical power generation, distribution, design, operation and maintenance for the U.S. Navy and commercial power industry. Prior to joining Patrona, Moniri was the NAVSEA Technical Warrant Holder for Electrical Systems. He was responsible for the electrical power generation, distribution, protection and control systems for all U.S. submarines, aircraft carriers and surface ships. He also developed electrical specifications for U.S. surface ships, submarines and carriers.

Moniri has held many senior-level engineering positions for the U.S. Navy and received numerous awards, including the Navy Superior Civilian Service Award, the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award – U.S. Pacific Fleet, and Achievement Award--USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) and the Special Award for: the USS Oklahoma City (SSN 723), USS SANDLANCE (SSN 660), USS Gato (SSN 615), and USS Glenard P. Lipscomb (SSN 685).

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree - Electrical Engineering from the University of Louisville, and his Master of Engineering from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.


Former U.S. Navy Ship Design Engineer James Conklin Joins Patrona Corporation
ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA. October 30, 2013 – Patrona Corporation, a leading woman-owned small business service provider to the US Navy and DoD, announces the hiring of James L. Conklin as Senior Program Manager, supporting the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) community. He will lead task support for the Virginia Class Submarine construction efforts.

Prior to joining Patrona Corporation, Mr. Conklin was the Ship Design Manager for the Ohio Replacement Class of Submarines. As the Technical Authority, he reviewed and approved the technical design and development of ship specification requirements and Government Furnished Information (GFI). Mr. Conklin also acted as technical liaison between the Strategic Systems Programs and the United Kingdom, managing a design team of more than 75 members, and overseeing the yearly budget development and program cost reduction initiatives.

He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. He is also Certified Level III as a Department of Defense Acquisition Professional in Systems, Planning, Research, Development and Engineering, as well as in Program Management, and LEAN Six Sigma.


FORMER US NAVY CHIEF ENGINEER SCOTT WILLIAMS JOINS PATRONA CORPORATION

Scott Williams as its Chief Engineering Officer. Prior to joining Patrona Corporation, Williams was Chief Engineer at the Submarine Maintenance Engineering, Planning & Procurement (SUBMEPP) Activity, a part of NAVSEA located at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. He was second-in-command overseeing a staff of 220 civilians and 145 contractors. He has 35 years of Federal Civilian Service, employed in various engineering and management positions related to US Naval nuclear submarine life cycle maintenance, modernization, reliability, safety, and cost control.

Williams received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire, in Durham, New Hampshire. He is also Certified Level III as a Department of Defense Acquisition Professional in Systems, Planning, Research, Development and Engineering.
