Patrona Corporation is focused on making 2021 the year of giving back to our localities. We have chosen organizations that support the communities in which we live and work.
Our first donation went to the Foundation for Underwater Research and Education (FURE). This organization hosts the biennial International Submarine Race for high school and college students at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Carderock. Teams work to design, build and power their own underwater craft, with the final competition held in the David Taylor Model Basin at NSWC Carderock. Patrona has been a Corporate sponsor for several years in support of today’s young people pursuing marine related scientific and engineering opportunities.
Our second donation was sent to Community of Hope which serves people through nine (9) centers across the Washington, DC area. This organization provides temporary and then permanent housing for families at risk of losing their homes. They support individuals who are trying to find work by providing resources, job referrals and mentoring. Health centers offer medical, dental, emotional wellness, prenatal and pediatric care for families in need. Community of Hope supplies the support needed to get these families back on their feet.
